We are pleased to inform you that VisaMetric will officially accept visa applications on behalf of the German Embassy in Serbia from 09.09.2024.

Warning about unofficial agencies

Appointments can only be booked via the Visametric website. Agencies or travel agencies have no other access and cannot book different or earlier appointments than you can yourself. Therefore, it is not necessary to hire an agency or travel agency for appointment booking.

Visametric also points out that application forms (VIDEX), information sheets, and all necessary information for submitting applications are available free of charge on the Embassy’s website at www.belgrad.diplo.de.

The German Embassy in Belgrade works exclusively with the external service provider Visametric!

There is explicitly no cooperation with other private visa agencies.

Important note on appointment scheduling and visa application for the Western Balkans regulation

Starting June 1, 2024, you have the opportunity to expedite your visa process considerably by securing pre-approval: Your future employer will apply for approval from the Federal Employment Agency before you schedule a visa application appointment. Once your future employer has obtained pre-approval from the Federal Employment Agency, you can schedule an appointment and apply for the visa by presenting the pre-approval.

National Visa:

Under the National Visa category, you can book an appointment for the following travel purposes:

  • Long Stay Other Beschv
  • Elderly care in the area of health, sickness and geriatric care (nursing assistant)
  • Cruise ship employees
  • Western Balkans regulations
  • Professional Drivers
  • Long Stay Contract Worker
  • Short-term quota employment
  • Student visa (without scholarship)

Schengen Visa:

Under the Schengen Visa category, you can book an appointment for the following travel purposes:

  • Visit (less than 90 days)

  • Business (less than 90 days)

  • Medical Treatment (less than 90 days)

  • Short Stay Contract Worker

  • Schengen Tourist

Important Information on Selecting the Correct Schengen Appointment Category for Russian Nationals

As of 09 October 2026, different appointment categories will be available for Russian nationals applying for Schengen visas.

When booking your appointment, please select only the category that applies to your specific application.

1. Schengen – Russian Nationals Without an Important Travel Reason

This category is intended for Russian nationals applying for a Schengen visa for purposes such as:

  • Tourism
  • Business travel
  • Visiting friends or acquaintances
  • Similar travel purposes

2. Schengen – Russian Nationals With an Important Travel Reason

This category is exclusively intended for Russian nationals who have an important travel reason in accordance with the requirements of the Embassy.

This applies exclusively to visits to close family members who:

  • Are EU citizens, or
  • Reside in Germany as third-country nationals.

Close family members are defined as:

  • Children
  • Parents
  • Spouses
  • The spouse’s children under the age of 21

Important information:
A written confirmation from the Embassy confirming the existence of an important travel reason is required in order to book an appointment in this category.

Applicants must first submit the relevant documents proving the important travel reason to the Embassy by email. Following the review, the Embassy may issue a written confirmation, which allows the applicant to book an appointment with VisaMetric.

The written confirmation from the Embassy must be brought to the appointment.

3. Schengen – Other Nationals

This category is intended for non-Russian nationals.

Please Note

Please carefully select the appointment category according to your nationality and purpose of travel. Selecting the wrong appointment category may result in the appointment not being processed accordingly. Therefore, please book an appointment only under the category that applies to your specific case.

If you book an appointment under the wrong category and attend at the scheduled time, the appointment will be considered used, regardless of whether your visa application is accepted.
